Fagaras Mountains… The Alps of Transylvania
Sibiu lies in the southern part of Transylvania, at the bottom of the Carpathians. Therefore, its landscape is quite diversified: mountain chains, hilly areas with such a rich flora and fauna, large fields, glacier lakes, mountain springs, salt lakes.
If you love nature and you are eager to explore by foot the beautiful areas around Sibiu and Brasov, we invite you to join us! We suggest you some trekking tours in the countryside with different stops and short visits . It’s the perfect combination of culture nature, trekking and local culture. How about an open air meal? We can also visit a traditional sheepfold in the mountains and have a picknick on the peak of the mountains – that’s something great, isn’t it?
We organize tours in:
- the area of the Cindrel Mountains (softer mountains with an avarage height at around 2000 m, with a very rich flora and fauna: bears, deer, lynx, wolves). They are very close to Sibiu, we can organize a large variety of “out of the beaten track” tours here.
- Fagaras Mountains with the Carpathians’ highest peaks: Moldoveanu (2544 m) and Negoiu (2535 m). They are also known for the famous road that crosses them: the Trasnfagarasan road. During our tour, on these trails, we’ll discover lots of waterfalls, galcier lakes, valleys, pastures, rocky peaks and, if we’re lucky, we’ll spot the wild goats.
- Piatra Craiului and Bucegi with their breathtaking gorges, valleys and peaks. They are so spectacular but what attracts more is the beautiful villages (Magura, Pestera, Fundata, Fundatica) spread between them
We can tailor the tours according to your wish. They might have different degrees of difficulty and length but we can design a tour that fits you best so you can relax and enjoy the views. All you need is trekking shoes and comfortable outdoor equipment!
Let’s have fun in the mountains!
